In 1950, Bill Rosenberg opened the first Dunkin' Donuts in Quincy, Massachusetts — and New England hasn't been the same since. Before it was a global chain, before the rebrand, before anyone outside of Boston cared — it was just a guy from Quincy who believed a good glazed donut and a hot cup of coffee could make anyone's day better. He was right.
These two stones found on the shores of New England didn't get the memo that they were supposed to be rocks.
The brown one — a likely arkose quartzite with a dark tourmaline vein running clean through the center — looks exactly like a fresh glazed donut, right down to the filling. The white one — likely milky quartz with iron oxide staining bleeding into warm amber at the edges — is the vanilla frosted. You can practically smell them.
