Everyone needs a blueberry to their muffin. That person who makes everything better just by being in the mix.

These two hand-selected beach stones from the shores of Plymouth, MA carry the warm golden-tan and deep blue-grey tones of a fresh-baked blueberry muffin straight from a New England kitchen. Playful, warm, and utterly one-of-a-kind — a perfect gift for your person.

Blueberries have grown wild across New England since long before the Pilgrims arrived. Native peoples of the Wampanoag nation — the very neighbors of Plymouth's first settlers — harvested wild blueberries for centuries, drying them for winter and weaving them into the fabric of life on this land. When the colonists arrived, they quickly adopted the small, tart berry as their own. Today, the wild blueberry remains one of New England's most beloved gifts from the earth.

These stones carry that same spirit — wild, unhurried, shaped by the same land that fed a nation.

The Stones

These are not small. At 2.5 lbs combined, these are substantial, palm-filling New England granite specimens — the kind of stones that anchor a shelf, a mantel, or a kitchen windowsill and make everyone who walks by reach for them.

And then they look closer.

The matrix is warm golden-tan to amber — weathered feldspar, iron-stained and rough-textured like the top of a muffin fresh from the oven. Pressed into it, rounded and distinct, are deep blue-grey masses of plagioclase feldspar or quartz — large enough to see clearly, sitting proud of the surface exactly like blueberries baked into batter. The resemblance is not subtle. It is uncanny.

One stone carries a smooth, almost translucent blue-grey dome across its top face — a large quartz or feldspar megacryst worn silk-smooth by the Atlantic, surrounded by the rough golden matrix. The other is more evenly mottled — blue-grey masses scattered throughout the warm tan ground, with rust-orange iron bleeding through the cracks like caramelized sugar.

Every angle is different. Every face has a new blueberry. No two are alike — because no two muffins ever are.

Hand-collected from Plymouth, Massachusetts. Cleaned and finished with mineral oil. Each set is one of a kind.
